Add your name: We need bold immigration reform

Our immigration system is designed for cruelty and dehumanization of immigrants. It’s built on a carceral framework and it’s time for the whole system to be reimagined.

The Roadmap to Freedom outlines a set of principles for an American immigration system that is just, empathetic, effective and fair. It calls for:

• A pathway to citizenship for 11 million people
• An end to inhumane and unjust family detention
• Investing in humane, community-based alternatives to detention and demilitarizing the border
• Increasing protections for immigrant workers

I support this resolution and call on Congress to pass bold, progressive immigration reform.
